    Lady Elfwyn of Osprey called Valnac comes from the year 630, when as a young girl of about 13 years she washed up on a shore near the village of Osprey.  Near death, she was discovered by a band of Mongols.  They took her in and nursed her back to health.  When she recovered from her near drowning, the Mongols being a curious group, questioned her on how she came to be in her situation.  Unfortunately she had no memory of her name, where she came from or any part of her past.  They gave her the name of Elfwyn and affectionately called her Valnac which she much preferred.  The mongols were kind to her which surprised Valnac when she realized what fierce warriors they were.

    She was the subject of many conversations around the council campfire.  One theory was that she had fallen overboard from a Viking ship.  She certainly looked Scandinavian with her blond hair and blue eyes. She spoke in a dialect unknown to the Mongols but she could also speak to the clan as if she were born to them.

    Then came the day of the bloody massacre.  Caught by surprise the mighty clan fell and existed no more, except for Valnac who had been berry picking the woods when the terrible destruction of her adopted village took place.  At the age of 17 she found herself alone once more.  Since her memory had slowly been returning over the past two years she set out to find her roots.  After many bad experiences she became streetwise and lived buy her wits.  She learned to judge people wisely and accepted an apprenticeship with a fatherly merchant she had met.  He taught her the art of trading by traveling near and far as she learned well.  Hoping to jog her memory, she wore many types of clothing she had collected on her travels, thus explaining her varied wardrobe of different types of traditional dress.

    Valnac grew restless and told her friend how much she appreciated all he had done for her, but she must strike out on a quest to find out who she was.  A great affection had grown between then and they tearfully parted ways.

    As she travels and stays a time with many different cultures, little bits and pieces of her memory return and numerous friends are made on her journeys.  Growing older, she still searches for answers.

    Valnac has been seen many times in the company of Nunzio the Traveler and they seem inseparable.  He has been said to be the love of her life.
